The Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change is responsible for the management of Environment, Forests and wildlife in the North Region. It implements three major acts- Forest (Conservation) Act 1980 and Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 and Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. The various activities undertaken by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change Office include Forest Protection, Forest Development Works, Wildlife Management, Soil and Moisture Conservation Works, Forest Planning, Harvesting, Ecotourism activities, Research, Extension and Training .
